Building a home can be a stressful process, but with McNair Custom Homes, it honestly wasn’t. This was actually our second McNair home, so we already knew the quality would be there – but once again, they exceeded our expectations. From the first meeting to the final walk-through, the process was smooth, well-organized, and never overwhelming.

Happy to share our experience building our home with McNair Custom Homes. We originally had selected a different builder and were in the process of finalizing our plans when the other builder and I got sideways over our closing date. I didn’t feel comfortable moving forward with that builder at all and basically relinquished my deposit and all the money I had spent on plans. I then started all over with a more determined plan to make sure that the builder I chose had integrity and that I would feel very comfortable trusting him to build our home. I met Vi at one of the Dominion model homes, and she spoke so highly of John McNair and his ability to keep his word throughout the construction process that I interviewed him shortly after that.
John McNair and his team have been a pleasure to work with. They have listened to our numerous requests for change orders during the building process and have always guided us along the way. We are so glad we trusted our gut and changed builders at the initial stage. John McNair is an experienced builder that stands out from the others because he builds at a fair price and keeps his word. For us, that was the most important characteristic we wanted from our builder. His team has gone above and beyond to accommodate the numerous upgrades and changes we made during our build.
We really didn’t have any surprises as we were building except maybe that an extra window was delivered and John suggested we change the plan to accommodate the window instead of returning it which turned out to be a big plus for us.

John, your down to earth personality and transparency is genuine. I don’t often do this – in fact, this may be a first. It has been on my mind for a while to write you a note to let you know how pleased we have been with our McNair home. Almost two years ago we purchased one of your homes in the Sonoma Ranch Subdivision. Due to company relocations, this was our fourth home in eight years. We had previously built from the ground up and were not anxious to do it again. We searched high and low for existing housing, but at the end of the day we could not find anything to meet our needs other than an in-process McNair home. We gritted our teeth and made the decision to purchase a new home again.
We have not regretted our decision. This was evident by the one-year follow-up. All of the needed repairs were minor and easily corrected. In addition, we found all of your employees and the sub-contractors to be highly skilled, professional and customer service oriented. We are seriously considering relocating within the San Antonio area in order to own an acreage lot – one of our life-long dreams. This time we are not as concerned about building a home because we know that we can contact your company and receive the service and home features that we desire.

It was a pleasure working with McNair over a warranty issue. McNair called the house every day to check on the progress of the contractors. The customer service was one of the best I have ever seen. They showed a sincere interest in our situation and us and did their best to correct it in a timely and professional fashion. I doubt other homeowners that purchased a home from other homebuilders get this type of service. This is what sets McNair Custom Homes apart from all other homebuilders in the area. We have built several homes and are quite familiar with the construction process. During my first meeting with McNair Custom Homes, John McNair told me he would build me a great home! That is exactly what happened. No home build goes perfectly smooth due to unforeseen circumstances, but the McNair’s were always there with a solution. They were available every step of the way. Communication was excellent. We had never gone through the process of designing and building a custom home before, and what’s more, we were coming from out of state and wouldn’t be able to be on-site for much of the construction. The McNair team was perfect to work with and they took away all our anxiety. They we so responsive and clear in their communications that everything seemed to flow and we never encountered any major problems.
