John McNair: “When I first went on my own, I was fortunate enough to have a potential client for a custom home job…Hedda Ginsberg. When she finally made her decision, and I asked her why, and she said because I was the most responsive, I had answered quicker than anybody else did.

I came home and said, honey, guess what? We got one.

So you gotta start with one.

We want every client to feel like they’re our only client.

My phone’s on 24/7. If a client’s got an issue and it’s a major issue, we want to be there for them.”

Jack McNair: “My dad’s been doing this for for so many years. He’s so experienced, forty plus years, and I really just try to to soak it all in.”

John McNair: “His whole life, he accompanied me on jobs and walking houses and in my truck, so he had it in his blood.”

Jack McNair: “I got my master’s degree in accounting from Texas A&M. I didn’t have the personality to sit behind a desk all day…I needed to to kind of be out and about, out in the field. Looking back at how I grew up, I wanted to continue the legacy that that my father had built.”

John McNair: “So he took about a 60% cut in pay and I said, you’re gonna start at the bottom.”

Jack McNair: “Sweeping out houses, driving T posts into the ground, Texas summer heat, 105 degrees. It was a very humbling experience, but I think that I’m trying to live up to my father’s great work ethic. “

John McNair: “To his credit, he stuck it out and now I couldn’t pry him away from it.”

Jack McNair: “He’s the the best teacher I could have asked for. Being able to see his honesty and how much of a stand up business owner he is firsthand, what really made me want to continue that legacy and not only maintain, but also build upon that.

John McNair: “The only thing you really own is your reputation. Clients come to me and say, ‘You know, you’re honest and upfront and transparent.’

One client called me blunt. And at the end, when he moved in, he said, you know what? Thank you for being blunt because we knew where we stood the entire time.

We’re not here to produce a product and move on. We’re here to be with you as long as you want us there.”

Jack McNair: “We plan on being here in San Antonio as a staple, as a luxury home builder for many, many years to come. We’re not going anywhere and we’re not gonna forget about our clients.”

John McNair: “We recognize that’s a big deal to these clients. It’s a lot of money, but it’s also a big deal to us. We take this responsibility very seriously. We’re not just building houses. We’re building a legacy.”
